Attractions
Isola Bella
Isola Bella, meaning "Beautiful Island" is a great spot to walk as well as snorkle. Just enjoying the o atmosphere around Isola Bella is a local pasttime. This island is viewable when riding into the train station.
Ask a Gianni House Staff member about the available snorkeling and diving tours.
Teatro Greco (Greek Theatre)
Taormina's most famous landmark is the Greek Theater. This description is accurate only in so far as the theater was originally built in the third century B.C. under Hiero II of Syracuse; in the second century B.C., however, under Roman rule, it was completely rebuilt with all the characteristics of a truly Roman theater, the perfectly semicircular cavea, the stage rising above the level of the orchestra and the richly articulated stage loft which is so high that its sides adjoin the top rows of seats, producing an enclosed space.
Many events & concerts are held here on a weekly basis. Check their calender of events to find out what is coming soon. Greek Theatre Coming Events
Circumetnea Railway
The railway circumetnea has been in operation since 1885 and connects the villages around Etna.
This railroad is a 950 mm narrow gauge railway with an antique feeling. For a few euros you can take a trip that offers views of Etna, especially among Randazzo, and Bronte Maletto that has no equal!
